Weekend at a Birthday Party

One more day and it's weekend again! Well for those who are in the UAE like me, and two more days for those who are on the usual Monday through Friday work week. Anyway, it doesn't matter what day you end the week as long as you have that time / day set for yourself to just chill and relax.  Staying away from the busy corporate world for a while and be a "normal being" to break some ice freezing all week long at work ;)

My weekend?  I always look forward to enjoy and have fun.  It doesn't mean hitting the bar or at any party place but I set things that I like / loving doing most.  A movie and dinner with girl friends, mini-shopping (is there really a word like this?), sleeping straight for eight hours (been ages I have not done this), and should I skip my weekend workout? of course not! Or simply pampering myself for a two-hour bathroom stay with my bestfriends - wax strips, scrub, hotoil and my moisturizers :)

Ok, enough said with all 'tis and 'tat of my weekend.  The last one was a bit different.  I had a 3-day weekend break. Whooah! 'cos I didn't go to work on a Thursday.  I will tell you later why, lol!

So, the highlight of the weekend that was is the birthday party I went for.  It was fun. Drinks Overflowing.  Food was yummy but I stayed on my limit intake so I did not have much.  Really took much control from my side ;)

Ohh, and it ended at 4am! Pretty late that I ended having a sore eyes.  I wanted to exit a bit early from the party but I was asked to stay a bit longer.  Well, it did not really take much persuasion for me to stay back, lol! Why should be anyway. Thanks Emma, you were really so accommodating.  Really enjoyed the party but not the sore eyes, lol!

And what's next for this weekend? Stay tuned ;)

warning: massive photo posts

Put those fire away from me, pls!

No, this isn't New Year yet!

This is My Way as a Proud Filipina, What About Yours?

Hello friends. I am one of the contestants for the Style MOEment competition sponsored by one of the big malls in the United Arab Emirates, named Mall of the Emirates (MOE).  The competition is a search for the most stylish and fashionable person in the UAE. Only one winner will be chosen from the contestants of different nationalities (Europeans, Americans, Asians, Arabs, Africans, etc.).  The entry photo of the contestant that will garner the highest number of votes before 12 March 2011 on FACEBOOK - Style MOEment page will be the winner.  The winner’s story will be featured on print, TV and other forms of Fashion ads. It is a promotional tool for Mall of the Emirates and its stores so popularity is the key tool to help win the contestants.

This is my very first time to join a competition that is a perfect venue to express my innermost passion of style.  I never thought that the fashion tidbits I had only in mind will remain to be just a mere thought with no chance of showing to the world where creativity and real art is a tangible beauty that everyone can appreciate.

This competition has opened an opportunity for me to realize my self-worth and self-confidence that I was doubtful and almost believe I never had.  Joining this competition has indeed helped me changed that perception. That race, ethnicities, caste or skin color will not be a reason to hinder one’s dream to achieve and to excel what she’s best at. To join a competition like this is a manifestation that I am, a Filipina, can be at par to compete with others of the best stylish known ever from each different group.

No one has influenced me to join this competition.  It is a sole decision and call to represent my Race to achieve something that will make the Filipino Race especially in the United Arab Emirates be proud of.  This challenge will be a little thing to consider for myself but the pride and recognition that will identify me as a Filipino is an accomplishment for the whole Filipino community.

Let’s stand for that Pride!  Please join me on this battle and challenge my opponents through your VOTES. It will only take a minute to cast your vote but the fact that you became an instrument to make a difference for your fellowmen is a PRIDE that will always remain in the hearts of the Filipinos for generations.

Apologies if the procedure appears quite long.  I just want to present its details.  But the way I have presented it will not be as complicated once you have clicked the link that will direct to my entry.

Your vote, indeed is my PRIDE. THANK YOU.

Once again, THANK YOU very much!

Sean Paul in Abu Dhabi

It’s the second year of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit and to bring excessive noise about it, countless pre-race activities from 12th October to 14th November were organized by Yasalam. Locals and expats must have enjoyed attending those various events choosing from mastering Motorsport, free concerts on the Abu Dhabi Corniche for those who cannot go to paid ones by other big international names in the music industry at Yas Island.

Abu Dhabi has become prominent in hosting big concerts for the past few years.  I can recall of Elton John, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Beyonce’s, etc. who gathered thousands of local and expat audience on each of these concerts.  And for the record, these are all paid concerts.  What happens then if one of these international stars host a free one? Yes, we’ve got the same perception. It’s going to be a massive concert that we can imagine.

Sean Paul, by the way, just had one! And should I be sleeping over and miss this? Hell no! I will be burning on its high Temperature Sean Paul will bring! LOL!

Got some pre-concert snapshots, but not with Sean ;-(
