Weekend at a Birthday Party

One more day and it's weekend again! Well for those who are in the UAE like me, and two more days for those who are on the usual Monday through Friday work week. Anyway, it doesn't matter what day you end the week as long as you have that time / day set for yourself to just chill and relax.  Staying away from the busy corporate world for a while and be a "normal being" to break some ice freezing all week long at work ;)

My weekend?  I always look forward to enjoy and have fun.  It doesn't mean hitting the bar or at any party place but I set things that I like / loving doing most.  A movie and dinner with girl friends, mini-shopping (is there really a word like this?), sleeping straight for eight hours (been ages I have not done this), and should I skip my weekend workout? of course not! Or simply pampering myself for a two-hour bathroom stay with my bestfriends - wax strips, scrub, hotoil and my moisturizers :)

Ok, enough said with all 'tis and 'tat of my weekend.  The last one was a bit different.  I had a 3-day weekend break. Whooah! 'cos I didn't go to work on a Thursday.  I will tell you later why, lol!

So, the highlight of the weekend that was is the birthday party I went for.  It was fun. Drinks Overflowing.  Food was yummy but I stayed on my limit intake so I did not have much.  Really took much control from my side ;)

Ohh, and it ended at 4am! Pretty late that I ended having a sore eyes.  I wanted to exit a bit early from the party but I was asked to stay a bit longer.  Well, it did not really take much persuasion for me to stay back, lol! Why should be anyway. Thanks Emma, you were really so accommodating.  Really enjoyed the party but not the sore eyes, lol!

And what's next for this weekend? Stay tuned ;)

warning: massive photo posts

Put those fire away from me, pls!

Hmmn, few more force to cut the fats ;)

Thoughts over the weekend

So I resumed work at the office on Thursday and contrary to what I thought I will just file my resumption form and head back to the city after, I spent the whole day working.  I am not complaining although I was a bit tired :) and I don't know if it is a compliment for me that I had a long weekend but  tiring as well.  It was all mixed of fun being with the girls, excitement meeting up again with other friends and tiring for not having slept well.

Thursday work mode
Anyway, let's shift the gear.  Did I just mention (who am i) that am sort of a free-spirited and laid-back person?  Generally I really can tell that I am.  Is that cool?  I don't really give a d*mn sh*t for anything not much of my concern.  Not that I'm not concerned at all but I am sick to have such tendency of self-inflicted sickness and tensions over a petty thing.  I just said that.  But what I found out last Thursday night was all of a "shock" to me.  Surprised, bullied, betrayed over not being told of something?  I really don't know.  And neither I blame anyone for this and just as what I heard, I never asked questions.  Was it my mistake for not, maybe yes.  But again, I AM NOT the type who interrogates anyone over a thing and that's pretty obvious that I am not a lawyer huh?  Is that a bad thing?  This is me and I think this can't be changed.  I let people share their stories if they are comfortable to but never I dig them much.  I am what I do and at some point, I really don't want to be asked a lot of personal questions by anyone too.  Let me loose the grip and bang!  You just have to wait for that.

I don't have the guts to feel bad for what I have found out.  Although I was really shocked and was in silence for awhile figuring out to fix my brain again at that moment.  I felt uncomfortable with my reactions witnessed by those who were there but I think that just proved that I'm a woman.  One with emotions.  This thing I cannot hide.  It's not that I am a freak or I go beyond being violent if I found something unexpected 'cos I can fight to have these forces not to dwell over my power ;) and this is one great thing that I can really be proud of ;) And I shouldn't forget to thank friends who were there for their comforting words reminding me of who I am and how things will change on me putting myself in this situation. Yes, they were right!

I have always thought to live the way I want. No pressures, no tensions and no headaches.  These are what I want.  Things happened whether planned, intentional or not, they cannot be taken the same as what they were so better yet is to accept the fact  and wait up for another thing to happen what life in store for us. No more aggravations. No drama.

****

I felt weird just while I was writing the above notes.  Now it's taking me few hours to finish this post 'cos I am bbming my friend whom I truly think will understand me what I have been through the weekend but looks like she didn't.  She is the only one I believe who can fully understand how I was at that time but things are turning on a different direction now.  Things like she was shocked, blah, blah seeing us (his guy) talking privately.  A real friend is being trusted.  No explanations to be made after I have already shared what was the "talking" all about.  Forget the "understanding" but it's all being broad-minded and not the opposite.

Anyway, I was like to melt for what I knew and can't think of anything that will let others think about whether the place was the right venue to talk to her guy or not.  I was the one who needed understanding why I reacted such, although I had a feeling it shouldn't have happened and I DON'T CARE anything except to think constructively about the situation, about being fair and unfair, about how I am having fun and smile it brings to my face.  I knew I didn't want to end just like that. Not giving up on something I already considered mine.

Let the journey continue and cross the bridge when I am there. xxx

Happy hump day everyone!

Weekend Update

The weekend was a bit tiring but I was happy the way things went out, as planned beforehand.  I hope this will not make somebody envy because I know how she felt bad while the weekend was almost over.  She's a friend and it's absurd feeling so great when somebody feels lost and unstable.  I know she's still at this moment and I just hope she will get over those issues that have arisen over the weekend.

We did our part as a friend.  Pieces of advise are always in the box for her to pick those up.  We will wait and see how it will turn out whatever she may decide later on.

****
Can't believe myself that I did most of listening and giving advises to friends over the weekend.  On what else to talk about other than their beautiful love lives!  Ohh ladies, I just love your stories. Seriously.

We all do have differences of situations over this matter - Lovelife.  Bad, worse or the worst situation perhaps, will have the same impact to destroy oneself if you permit the negativity thoughts you have towards an issue. It all depends how are you going to handle the circumstances brought about by your reactions on a certain situation.  We were given minds over hearts to control our emotions. To rule over emotions and decide what is the right thing to do - to freed oneself from destructions if otherwise not being carefully thought.

****
So, few more days before my month-long break.  Half of it will be spent in P.I and the other half in U.A.E.  This is the first time ever I will be spending a long break in the U.A.E.  I hope I will be able to spend it productively as I planned for couple of things to accomplish out of my work perspective.

Sure I will be fine for 15 days in the islands of P.I again.  Although my itinerary looks so exhausting already traveling from the Capital down to the South - head back to the capital - and finally to the North, I am really not that sure how will I be able to gear myself up to battle this tiresome journey I will have for 2 weeks.

Not just that.  My urge to feed myself with a not-so-extreme adventure again is up whenever I get a chance to have a long break.  I booked myself to join a hike to the Mayon Volcano on April 9 and 10!  This means that my not only 2 but 3 days stay more in the North will be spent in the Bicol region and only few days will be left for La Union before I head back to the Capital again to catch my flight back to the UAE on early 16th of April.

The P.I. trip will definitely be manageable, I hope (*wink).

****
For today's treat, here are some snapshots to keep an eye for (*wink).  Just pardon me with the as usual, not-so-good captures.  Have a blessed Sunday, everyone! - xxx
Lazy-dom (such a word!) hit me so this is the outfit I came up for today

By the way, managed to lose 5 kgs for almost 2 months now.  Yohoo, don't you think it's a great achievement?

Late Post - Dubai Festival City

I know this is a very late post and I have to apologize my friend Florence for this. But this is better though than forgetting at all, right?!

It's been quite long since the last time I met my very good friend, Florence in Dubai. So I decided to visit her the day after her birthday. Yeah, just only the day after her birthday that I was able to get a chance because obviously, it was already Friday.

And my visit called for a post-bday celebration? (*wink).    Of course I did not expect for a lunch out but that made me smile when they will be bringing me to the the mall I've not visited yet.  Oh yeah, that is funny.  We headed to Festival City. Lunch was awesome and did pictorial by the Marina dock area just behind the mall, after.

Thanks Florence & Rey for being sooopah accommodating everytime I get a chance to be in Dubai.

Weekend Update - Photos

As I have mentioned on this post , here are some of the photos during my weekend trip to Dubai with roomies.  Despite of struggles on dubai roads, we still managed to smile in front of the camera.  Hmmn, ain't this really obvious that we love being the subject, no matter what?

In my six years of stay in the UAE, I can't count how many photos I got the same view of the Burj Dubai ;-)

Weekend Update

My weekend celebration should have started early last Thursday night for a full of fun at one of my friends' birthday party  but unfortunately I wasn't able to make it.  I was double dead tired after work and headed straight to bed snaggling myself (with a bit of self pity*).  I was unwell on a Thursday night when I am supposed to be having fun with girl friends.  I even prepared couple of games to play off at the party and I was just too excited myself to really have fun that night but everything went just nowhere and ended myself watching cartoons ;-)

So enough with complaint having not partied on Thursday.  I've got enough reason to smile the following day (Friday) meeting up Ruby.  Paz as usual had her no-show because of her claimed after-party sleepless night followed an early work the following day so she needed to gain back her sanity and get rid of the zombie eyes* for awhile.  So, that put Ruby and I only to meet Te* and To*, the new friends, over for lunch. It was fun indeed having company with people you feel you already like with that first impression you have for them.  Hey, that is not for anything else but the way a person talks, share stories and make you laugh are just enough for me to like his company.  I wouldn't want to be in a company of a nod-and-shake type of person and then worse if the talking will just be left over to me.  I'd rather be alone and pretend to be crazy talking to myself than with somebody who is mute by choice.

But I don't know what was the impression they had for me / us.  I felt a bit uneasy after we made each "byes" and "see you arounds".  I realized how I talked a lot that almost made To* or Te* not to talk (I think) anymore when they are the native english speakers!  I felt like I was dominating over with the conversations we had. I hope I wasn't. I don't know if this is me being the spontaneous or just the mere talker of anything that can be discussed on the table especially with new people I just met.  I talk and share whatever pops in my mind.  That's no hypocrisy but it comes out naturally.  I could be misunderstood for trying to make an impression? You may, but I am not! Start off with a topic that I can discuss with you and I will be happy to share my thoughts, otherwise, I will be more than glad to be honest to say that "I don't know" for anything I have no knowledge of.

I think they didn't hate my company for being such a talkative* (I have to get rid of this sickness) at all because we planned still to watch a movie.  But that became just a plan because of unexpected change of plan too for their earlier commitments.  That was fine, but the girls cannot be held to carry on to the movie when the guys are out so I and Ruby made it instead.

Saturday.  I have initially planned to have the day for myself.  That is to have a little bit of fixing my wardrobe, doing my laundy, a home-cooked lunch to prepare, a 2-hour weekend - bathroom stay and an afternoon nap.  But unfortunately nothing has been done.  I was dragged to join my roomies for their Dubai trip.  Oh well, that didn't really excite me.  I was on and off Dubai every weekend for the past weeks and literally I didn't want to step the Dubailand that soon yet. But the guilt-pulling way of convincing by the roomies made my lazy self stand up and prepare for a 30-minute coffee, bath and dressing up all in half hour time.

There's a lot to mention what happened in between that Abu Dhabi-Dubai-Abu Dhabi trip.  Some heart-pounding near-misses, funny go-and-back directions while tracking the way to Shindagha tunnel, the assignments that were delegated to the three of us to remind her* to be alert with the traffic lights, etc. which made it more hilarious putting ourselves like driving instructors and countless of prayers being said to keep us and our way safe.

Sh* was indeed brave to battle the traffic of Dubai roads.  I give her ten points for that but putting our lives all on something you're certain what will happen is a disgrace by all means.  That should regard the accountability that you will shoulder whatever happens to those who trusted and believed you.  The known scenario should have been thought responsibly before starting up the engine.  But things happened and pointing fingers to anyone doesn't make any good at anyone.  The only great thing to do now is to Thank God that we made it, still alive and kicking!

P.S. Will post few photos on our Dubai trip as soon as I get copies of them.

Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

The Weekend That Was

Three more days sound a bit of a long wait before another weekend.  I am feeling exhausted and taking much of an effort to drag myself at work. The weekend was just over and I was feeling uneasy on a first working day of the week when I should have felt refreshed ready for a five-long working days.  That is because my weekend was spent on things I really did not want to do.  It wasn’t just a perfect timing spending the whole day outside and produce nothing. The day went wasted and I felt bad about it when I should have done something meaningful to cheer my weekend up. Organizing my wardrobe should have given me a nice smile before I started off the week. Don’t worry, I don’t blame anyone.
That’s fine.  Things happen beyond our control and even if we attempt to hold it off, we still can’t do anything but to embrace it, all in with the right spirit.
Ok, enough with ramblings and whining for that day. I should tell you that somehow I had a little nice time for myself on late Thursday night.  I headed to Marina Mall straight away after work to check a pair of leopard print-inspired shoes in Forever 21 but I found out that it looked more of a high booties than it is shown on the website. The purpose wasn’t served so I went for a movie ‘Just Go With It’ instead.
Another night, on a Friday.  Girlfriends meet up to cheer for a friend who joined a singing contest.  I was a bit hesitant to attend but it has been quite sometime that I wasn’t on the crowd so it might as well good to show up and go with the flow, and so I did.
The good and not-so-good days are not yet over. I hurt my hands washing soo hard yesterday.  That is with my bare hands.  It may sound ridiculous, and yes it is, that I gave much importance on the fabric rather than taking care of my hands. Using gloves did not convince me so with the hand rashes. Would you ever dare to take the same challenge?
I can’t wait any longer for another weekend.  Hopefully for a relaxing weekend.  But before that happens, outfit posts will always be up here first.  This is for todays.

Happy. Overjoyed. Ecstatic. Inspired = ?

Wow, my few weeks back had been incredibly exciting! If you happen to follow my earlier posts, there were some kinda mix of everything I was feeling lately. I might have been a bit weary but there is always a reason to cheer up! I can mention that this is the good thing about me. I never really put myself so down whatever challenges that may come along my way. I may cry over night about something that I was really hurt from but what’s life gonna be then if I will let my tears just run all throughout and will not see the bright side of tomorrow?

Problems and challenges in all days life seems never ending. They say, that’s how life make it exciting. Otherwise, will be boring :-( However, it absolutely depends on how one will react to certain issues. The emotional level that you pour into it depicts the situation yourself will become. When you failed with something for instance, isn’t it an instinct decision, without being planned that you have to rise again and move on? But this isn’t always the case. We see people being miserable after a very hurtful or maybe tragic event that happened in their lives. There are maybe number of reasons why people become such. Weak to fight for the failure or maybe has never tried to see the bright future that awaits ahead of them?

Well as I have said, it depends on how you want to see yourself after even how many times you’ve been hurt, betrayed, failed with anything but you never give up and continue to live life at its best instead.

------------------------

Happy. Overjoyed. Ecstatic. What else can I mention? Ohh, there’s one more, inlove? ;-)

Yes, I’m feeling it again. I’ve never thought this kind of feeling will get back to me a million folds. Although I was a bit hesitant to have it fully known by “him” because I wanna put things in the right place. To have no more fears of getting hurt, of risking my feelings but just treasure this wonderful feeling that I have right now. Live with it each and every second that moves coz we don’t know what we might be missing if we don’t admit what we truly feel and accept this wonderful gift that has been given to those who truly deserve.

I am inspired. Everyday as I imagine. Life became tremendously beautiful. You made me see this and that, I am thankful.

------------------------

Life is becoming more beautiful and so with my weekend celebration.
Playing bowling has become one of my fave activities during off days. It may not be as regular on a weekly basis but if I feel like lifting and throwing some kgs over the bowling alleys, I drag my roomies and friends to join me play. So, did this last weekend. As exciting I am to brag the result, I led the game, lol!

...and it didn’t just stop at the bowling center. It’s been a long time I didn’t play billiards. Baby, it’s been years and didn’t imagine I can still play a bit well. How does it sound, huh? People watching and thought that a lady couldn’t play like they do, lol! Well, that might be different for me.

Dare for a challenge;-) ? LOL!

End of Ramadan and What I Do Feel

The long-month of fasting (Ramadan) for our dear muslims is over, and so our 6-hour work timings. Whether you are a muslim or not, the holy month of Ramadan is a period being enjoyed by all having cut of working hours (some from 10 hours to 6 hours, like mine). This is basically addressed to muslims only (of course, because they are fasting) giving them more time for prayers and rest to survive the day fasting. I used to understand that when people fast, it’s really abstaining from anything for the whole day and succeeding days. Like no food, water intake the whole day (ignorant me). It’s wrong! Can’t blame me, I wasn’t educated with this, lol. Thanks for having the chance to step in the muslim land, I am able to learn more fully the way of life, of the muslim way.

Ramadan is ended of what they call Eid. It’s normally a 3-day long celebration being with family, relatives, friends and even the entire neighborhood. This is like Christmas for Christians. They as well exchange presents, adorn their homes with a resemblance of sparkling moon and star you can see at their doors and windows.

The 3-day Eid celebration is marked as a holiday and again even if you are not a muslim, you’ll be able to enjoy the holiday. But this year’s Eid took place on Friday and Saturday which is the normal weekend, off days for us. So there is no additional benefit by those who were expecting to have a longer holiday if it took on weekdays and that means, 2 weekdays off plus the normal weekend (*sigh*)

And so that was just a normal weekend for me too. Nothing special, but what I enjoy most is I know the 2-day off is always a time for myself. Whether I have plans spending the day outside or being just in the apartment doing my own stuff. And the last weekend plan did not work out. I should have gone somewhere and able to find answers of bunch of queries I have in mind. Queries that still remain to be unanswered until I could get help from a special friend who is ocean’s away to have them closed. How could that be possible? It is another question that only fate can answer. I know you are really one of a special. That proved that even how I’ve got huge of confusions lately, I did not break down and fell into deceptions of great pretenders and opportunists and that because you have helped me realized the worth of our friendship and beyond that we are about to work out.

Today, I am back to my normal 10-hour long stay in the office. Although I’ve got couple of things to finish off this week, how good it is to start something to write down everything that cheered my weekend up. Thank you so much, T.

Hope the week will continue to be as incredible as what I feel :-)

Eid Mubarak!

The Weekend to Escape a Weary Mind

I have been enjoying my weekend so far for couple of months now. Earlier was entirely a boring one! So typical, routinary and energy-buster as I used to stay in just one place by merely doing boring activities to mention such as watching TV, eat, sleep, do my laundry, internet browsing, etc. There were no chances of seeing the outside world as I was in an isolated place that cannot be reached by rays of opportunities. Until one day, I realized I should not put myself the way others would want it to be. This is my life and my happiness does not depend with others. I should do things that make me fulfilled, independent and a solid person on my own.

And now I am starting it………………

Given a 2-day off, basically my weekends, is a huge blessing for me. This means I am able to do and enjoy more my personal inclinations.

Speaking of weekends, it isn’t a typical one nowadays. Every weekend gets more exciting. So many things can be done. It’s the variation of activities that make it exciting because I do things that I do not normally or never have done before. So just to give a pinch of idea what I am talking about, I will highlight how did I spend my last weekend:

1 – Attended mass and met my girl friends after in the church.
Had small catching-up conversations and ended up of deciding to spend the weekend in Dubai. It was a good opportunity though for 3 of us as we rarely have the chance to have day-off that falls on Friday and Saturday. I have mine with these days but my other 2 friends vary every week.
So, as 3 of us agreed to go to Dubai, I needed to have a 15-minute pack-my-things because friends are waiting down the building. Just imagine what did I get with that 15 minutes of grabbing girl’s stuff. Certainly a lot of things have been left out – took the wrong shoes for my outfit, incomplete make-up set and wrong accessories. But it was still exciting. The can-i-share theory with girls (not with any other stuff, purely material) really works!

2 – The Friday dinner in Dubai. Planned to have it in one of the big malls but due to a huge crowd of football fans, we ended up a restaurant in Al Rigga Street. I was so amazed with the huge screen that was placed with much effort in one of the big malls for the football matches. I wanted to stay for a while in the mall especially it was Brazil’s game, but I feel my friends did not like it so I did not spoil myself this time.

3 – After dinner. I was so confident I will be able to lead my friends in of the clubs we used to visit before when I was staying in Dubai back in 2005. Gosh, a lot have changed in the place and no way I can remember where that building is! I just felt sorry for my friend who kept on driving and leading to nowhere. She was just too patient.

Since we’re not able to find “whatever” that place, we ended dropping at Avenue Hotel and was told to watch the stand-up comedians. For a change of disco-dancing, I felt it was interesting. And it was! There was even a singing contest and was not even over yet at 1AM!

The rendition of each participant was over and names of qualifiers for the next elimination were identified. This means that audience are now able to sing as the club is a mix of karaoke and comedy bar. Those who like to sing should stand in front / on stage while following the lyrics of the song on screens walled every corner in the bar.

I just envy my 2 friends who can really sing well and brave enough to perform in front of people when we speak about singing profession. There was no sign of hesitation but had the full courage of doing it! That’s how confident my friends are and I just love it.

4 – 3AM at Al Rigga Street, Dubai – Returned back where Paz (my friend) parked the car. And gosh, 2 police patrol cars were behind the car as if waiting for us to be questioned! Oh my gosh, what would have been our violations we asked ourselves. We knew that we needed not pay for the parking space for that wee hours. But still we checked around if we’ve got a ticket and thank God there was none. Two guys were sitting nearby the car and told us that the police cars are for others violations and not for us. We felt so relieved with that and not needed to dare ask the police officer what our violation was. And to be noted, and might be unbelievable but yes, we did not have alcohol. That might have been an issue if we were checked by the PO and found out that we are! Folks, don’t get yourself in trouble! POs are really clever and you wouldn’t just know you’ll already behind bars in a blink of an eye.

5 – Still got a day to spend in Dubai. Now to Atlantis, Dubai Marina and Dubai Marine (hmn, quite confused with the two!).

Atlantis – who does not know this place if you are in Dubai? With the spectacular hotel structure built in the man made island of Palm Jumeirah. The human palm look-alike islands in Dubai.
It was my first time to visit the place. Was amazed with the structure but didn’t stop me comparing its amenities with other hotels / places I went to. The water park is incomparable with Dreamland. Dreamland is awesome! The Surroundings? I better go with Madinat Jumeirah and the Souq. And the aquarium? Dubai Mall has it!

6 – Dinner at Dubai Marina. 3 ladies are dead hungry and whoever is on a diet will never think about it. I love this place. Everywhere in this place is a restaurant, cafĂ© and more dining place. The walk ways are so relaxing and make you feel you are walking in a village nearby the sea. So good to be away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Don’t just go to the other side as you will see the high rise buildings on their way and cars bumping inch-to-inch.
Will certainly keep coming back to this place. And hmn, what about accepting a 3-month stay in one of the flats nicely situated here – for free! I’l think about it.

7 - Clubbing time to Dubai Marine. I thought the club is on Dubai Marina but we still drove almost an hour with the traffic jams to Jumeirah road. Not a bad place for a first-timer like me coz you’ve got plenty of bars to choose from.
We headed to El Malecon, a Cuban restaurant providing an exceptional combination of dining and entertainment. On the menu there is a typical Cuban cuisine with a fusion of international styles. The restaurant provides live Latino entertainment every night with a no holds barred attitude to entertainment making this is a place to visit if you don't want a quiet evening.

So speaking of with no holds barred attitude, I was about to be in slight trouble at this time. Since it was all latin music the whole night and just 1 song we got familiar from, we grabbed the chance of dancing with this “lambada” in latin tune. And to my surprise, a latin guy just came up from nowhere and took my hands and start dancing with me! I wanted to push him so bad but I reserved. I didn’t want to make such troubles in a crowd and the thought that we’re the only Asians in the bar. Reserving pride, you know. So I just danced and smiled while grudging inside. And still, he did not take off my hands. It does not mean that because he’s really a good latin dancer, I would admire him. I actually wanted to kill him! Lol!

To get out from trouble, I insisted to sit down with a tiresome gesture so he would release me from the dance floor, paid off our bill and time for a much lively dancing!!!

The night did not stop at El Malecon! Now to Boudoir - a French Bar and Night Club. A French bar and and Indian night, how does it sound? It was all spontaneous. We had no idea what’s going on this place. All we know, a much lively dancing and music happens here!!

On entering this fabulous place, you will notice the glamour, finesse and grandeur of the interior. There is an air of romance, enflamed by the French Renaissance period, yet with an added twist of Baroque arrogance. The Lounge music will gradually dissolve into the more trendy sounds of Deep House, upping the tempo and volume as the evening progresses.

Fashionable, chic and trendy are not the only images that Boudoir reflects. Add it's qualities of elegance and class.

It wasn’t a bad weekend at all. I did enjoy it very much. Although we ended the night early (1AM) as we needed to be back Abu Dhabi for work at 7AM!

And while on our way back, as early at this time we’ve already planned out something for Thursday and Friday as we’ll have common day-off still. What about trying a shooting at Caracal Shooting Club? Not quite sure if this will be pushed through coz Friday is going to be Brazil and Holland’s match.

Surely we’ll find time to try it. It’s been boss’ long time invitation as well to try out his new hobby in town.
